Happy shopper at the Gendler Grapevine Fresh Stop Market

New Roots, Inc. has been working on food justice issues for years in Louisville, KY, but in 2015, expanded their work into the Jewish community through a grant from the Gendler Grapevine Project. This continued into 2016 when they were awarded another Gendler Grapevine grant to open a Fresh Stop Market at the Jewish Community Center. We are thrilled to announce that the Jewish Heritage Fund for Excellence (whose mission is to invest in the local healthcare market, foster innovative medical research, and support the Louisville Jewish community) has awarded New Roots, Inc. $42,000 for spreading the joy and abundance of Fresh Stop Markets to the Jewish community and beyond. New Roots will be holding food justice workshops and dinners, as well as the Fresh Stop Market Training Institute.
