Today would have been Rabbi Everett Gendler’s (z”l) 95th birthday. As the Earth displays its splendor and bounty, whether that be in the form of rain, sun, lush trees, colorful flowers, or a bumper crop of vegetables in your garden, I hope you too are reminded of Everett. I often think about how he moved through the world gently, yet also with determination, noticing life and beauty everywhere, with the goal of making it a more just and civil place for all. I think I’m not alone in saying that I miss him.
